Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
We have a few courses that are on our Canvas Commons instance that have Google Cloud Assignments. The problem is, when a teacher makes a copy of that course, they do not have access to the Google Cloud Assignment documents and none of the students have access either. The students get a 'We're sorry, but something went wrong' message, and the teachers get prompted to ask for access to the document. The original course that was shared to commons, has all of the Google Documents set to public.
I am curious to know if anyone else has knowledge of the topic or has experienced this issue.
Hello @brian_t_anders ...
If I understand your question correctly, you have a situation where an instructor had a course that utilized Google Cloud Assignments, and then that course was shared to Commons. Then, another instructor import the course from Commons into his/her own course. You mentioned that the document from the originating course were all set to "public" in the first instructor's Google account. This is just a wild guess, but do you know if these documents in Google are stored in a folder? If so, is that folder also "public"? It may be possible that the documents in a folder are "public", but the folder itself is not public. I've not tested this at all on my end, and I could be completely wrong in my theory (wouldn't be the first time), but it's something to maybe investigate on your end.
