[ARCHIVED] How do I make students submissions visible to the rest of the class?

In one of my classes, students are writing short stories. We usually celebrate students' final drafts with a read-around. Everyone brings in a printed copy of their short story, and we pass the papers around the room until they've all been read. What's the best way to do something similar on Canvas?

Hi,  @csumption ‌, when I was teaching humanities courses, I did something very similar with students' weekly short essay assignments. After I finished assessing their submissions, I invited them to post their essays to an ungraded discussion board designated for that purpose.

I also did a weekly post of my own where I picked three submissions for open discussion, again ungraded; those submissions weren't necessarily "the best" (whatever that means), but rather were ones that in my subjective opinion provoked thought. For those discussions, I turned their submissions into images to lessen the possibility that someone might come across it and copy-paste it for use elsewhere; that doesn't prevent a student from replicating the text but does add a few steps to the process.

I included language in the course syllabus that let students know that I might use their submissions in this fashion.
