How can students register/sign in for groups? How can they make their own groups in Canvas?

We see that the option exists. Nevertheless, students don´t know how to do it. Is it because in their Canvas they don´t have all the buttons/sections that we as teachers have?

If you create a group set from the people page or when creating an assignment, you can choose to allow students to sign up for a group in the group set OR you can randomly assign students to the groups in the set. For self sign up groups, students need to visit the people page to sign up. Once students are in a group, they will see the groups icon in the global menu and they can access all course groups from there.

Students can create study groups in a course if allowed. This option is in the course settings on the course details page under the more options.
