[ARCHIVED] How can I start a new course in canvas?

Hi,

I am new using Canvas and during the Canvas training I found my six classes already in Canvas. My question is: How may I start a new course on Canvas?

HI  @rogarcia  Welcome to the Canvas Community.

Great question, I'm pleased you can see potential in using Canvas for other reasons.

It does depend on how your institution has things set up so here are a couple of ways to set up your own course.

How do I start a new course from the Dashboard as an instructor? 

If this is not possible, and that is the case in our Canvas instance, then you will need to follow these steps:

• go to Admin in the left hand side global navigation menu. 
• hopefully you will see at least 2 accounts. Select the one with an asterisk (*) beside it.
• then click +course on the top right side
• follow the guide above from here on
