Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
This is VERY relatable, as I've been asking this very question myself. Hoping for an answer soon!
You have a few different options for finding the submission status of the work that your student or students turn in.
From a browser, you can see the Grades page. It's full of information for you!
How do I view the Grades page for a student as an observer?
With the Canvas Parent app, the calendar has a week view that is tagged and color-coded to make things easier.
I appreciate your prompt response, however, those two suggestions do not satisfy my need of seeing IF my student submitted his assignment.
If a grade is posted, obviously, the assignment has been submitted, but that grade may be posted several days after its due date. If he gets a zero or a "missing," then I know, but by that point, if he IS allowed to submit an assignment late, he will lose partial credit.
There needs to be an icon or notification on the assignments page (or grades page) that the assignment has been SUBMITTED for grading. Honestly, I spent so much time trying to figure this "did he submit it? did he submit it to the right class? in the right way?" last Spring, that I almost punted the tablet into the woods. It's maddening.
