How can I get my Synergy to show a missing assignment on a assignment synced from Canvas? It shows missing on Canvas but in Synergy it just shows a 0. Students aren't seeing in StudentVue that they still need to complete it.

I agree but have not found a solution to this problem. canvas has the status of missing, but by uploading a zero rather than mi that information gets lost. This seems to be a simple fix for someone with the rights to change how canvas integrates with synergy

I was helping a teacher today who was showing this same issue.  I thought the missing label was supposed to passback to Synergy.  But it's not (at least not for this teacher/gradebook).

How can I get the “mi” label in Canvas for missing assignments to transfer to Synergy?

In Synergy, there are a couple of setups that need to take place.  

1. Turn on “Show Comment Codes” in your Synergy gradebook Filters and Options. 
2. If you have your Comment setup to award a 0 or 50% of the points for a “Missing” assignment AND have “Remove when Scored” set to “Yes”, then the grade book sees that 0 or 50% as a ‘score’ and removes the missing comment - You can’t have both.
