[ARCHIVED] Hidden courses?

I have found an EXSISTING number of Hidden courses? there's an existing course 666 and course 404 and 505 what are these courses I don't have access but what are they and who are they for.

If you have any info please let me know

Hi There,

When courses are created in Canvas, they are assigned a one-up numbering scheme for course IDs.  So every course created at your school has a number that was assigned in consecutive order as courses are created.  Usually, schools choose to hide and unhide courses as appropriate.  So, before a term begins, all the courses are created and hidden and then after the term is over they may (or may not) be hidden again.  Does that make sense?

Hi I see a large number of hidden courses when I make a GET request to /api/v1/courses, I only actually have access to one course. But when I view them in the website or on my app I can see all my courses normally. Is there some privacy setting I need to change ? (I can pull my TODO list just fine from the api, which also includes assignments from the "hidden" courses)
