[ARCHIVED] Grading Periods at Instructor Level?

I am using the free version of Canvas and think I just posted a question on the wrong page. My apologies for that... 

I am using the free account for my middle school math class. I am trying to set up grading periods and have activated my grading scheme but I have no "grading periods" tab to set those up. Looking through the forum, one response mentioned free accounts should be able to set it up at the course level. I have a feeling I'm missing a step somewhere. 

Can anyone offer some insight?

I had to do a bit of searching here in the Community to find an answer for you.  Please check out the comments at the bottom of this Guide: How do I view grading periods in a course?.  (And actually, now that I look at the comments, I see that you got a reply from @InstContentTeam.)  So, hopefully the PDF they referenced (Canvas Account Comparisons PDF) for you has helped to answer your question.
