Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I investigated this in the past but thought it was worth bringing up again to see if the software has improved.
We haven't been using Graded Storylines in Canvas because it seemed SCORM was inconsistent with reporting the scores back to the gradebook. But I'd love to be able to use Storyline for graded assessments.
Does anyone use Storyline for graded assignments? If so, what sort of assignments? How well does it report results to the gradebook? What sort of results does it record well? What should we stay away from?
Examples would be amazing.
If a Canvas admin could post this in the general Q&A and the ID area, that would be helpful (I don't know how to post in two places). Thanks!
I had the same issues today, the grading is hit or miss. I republished using SCORM 1.2 instead of SCORM 4.0 3rd edition. Here is the ONLY bit of useful information I have found on this subject thus far? Not 100% if it even works.
Export Rise using Scorm 1.2
On the assignment, settings add in the desired point values and then display grade as complete/incomplete.
This is like the 4th LMS I have worked with and I must say it is VERY limited and the Customer Service is NOT GOOD. I have wasted half of my day reading message boards like this and THE ONLY useful information I have read is from other users answering other user's questions. It seems the majority of the time when someone from Canvas comes on they give the same generic message that says they don't know.
VERY Frustrating!
I published a Storyline as an LMS SCORM 2004 version 4. I uploaded it to Canvas through the SCORM LTI. I tested it on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. The only one that passed a grade back to Canvas was Firefox. Our Canvas admin does not hold out any hope that this will be fixed, saying that as browsers become more secure, they do not allow old insecure standards like SCORM to work. I am losing hope in ever being able to use Storyline for summative assessments.
