Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I've written about this before, and submitted a bug report as well...but still having the problem. Whenever I make inline comments on my student's submissions, they disappear once I enter a grade! I'm NOT talking about comments made in the "Comments" box--it's the comments I make ON the assignment itself using the "T" tool. I've been using Canvas for years and have never had the issue before...and it's creating huge problems for my students who aren't getting my feedback. Any ideas?
@jmerriam , that sounds super frustrating. 😞
I haven't gotten any recent reports of this happening. Does this seem to be happening in a certain browser? Have you tried switching browsers to see if that makes a difference?
Thanks for the commiseration, Kona…and yeah, it’s REALLY frustrating! I thought about trying a different browser, except for the fact that I’ve been using Firefox for years, and it’s never caused a problem like this before. Seems to be just the past 2-3 weeks. I’ll try responding with Chrome next time, even tho I hate it, just to see what happens. I did finally get a response from Canvas support this afternoon asking for a screen shot of “before” and “after”…hopefully they’ll be able to help me figure out what’s wrong.

Thanks for the extra information! I’d also used Firefox for a long time and ended up switching to Chrome after running into some little issues here and there. I’ve now been using Chrome for a while and am happy with it, yet I still flip back to Firefox here and there. 🙂
Let us know what you find out as you continue to test/try things!

No, it hasn't been fixed! Three years later, it is still happening to me. I use Chrome.
