How do I copy a course from last year to make a similar course this year?

Hi eva.lindelland welcome to the Community!   @bneporadny gave you the best way to copy a course from a previous term.  I would note that as the documentation describes, you can only copy content from a course you have access to, so if someone else taught the previous course you could not use the course import tool.  In this case, your best bet may be to ask an administrator at your institution to copy the course content or someone could send you the course export package and you could import this into your shell (see https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12783-415241324 ).
