Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi! good afternoon!
Is there any way that the zoom recordings can be left automatically in Canvas?
I need the classes that are in "Upcoming Meetings" to appear in "cloud recordings" without having to publish them manually.
Previously this worked correctly.

Thanks!
Hello @Kevin25 ...
I am a Canvas administrator at our school, and we also have the Zoom LTI integration set up in our Canvas environment. I'm not sure that you are interpreting the tabs of the Zoom interface correctly. In your "Upcoming Meetings" tab, the only thing that will show there are your meetings that have not yet taken place. In your "Cloud Recordings" tab, the only meetings that will show there are any past meetings that you have also recorded. So, when the Zoom recording is ready, it will show up on that tab, and then you can choose whether or not to "Publish" it by clicking on the toggle switch. So, any meetings that you currently have in "Upcoming Meetings" will only move to the "Cloud Recordings" tab if you've chosen to record those meetings.
Does this help to answer your question? I hope that I've interpreted your question correctly. Sing out if you have any other questions. Take care, stay safe, and be well.
Hello @Chris_Hofer ! Thank you very much for your quick response. One more question, is there the possibility that the recordings appear automatically without pressing the button to decide the publication?
@Kevin25 ...
In my experience setting up the LTI app in our own Canvas environment, the option to include that toggle switch (to publish or not publish cloud recordings) is something that would be configured by whoever set up the Zoom/Canvas integration at your school. My guess is that this was your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department. For example, when I set up our Zoom integration, we decided to not turn that toggle switch option "on". Thus, Zoom recordings show up on the tab automatically. You're going to need to have a conversation with folks at your school about this...keeping in mind that I believe this setting would affect anyone at your school that is also using the Zoom integration. So, while some people may like the option to toggle whether or not a recording is "published" or not, others may not want just an option to have it show automatically. Hope this helps!
