[ARCHIVED] Clearing a quiz attempt

How can I clear a student's quiz attempt and reset it so they get a new quiz?  This is a quiz whose availability date as closed.

You can't clear a student's attempt (You can only give them an extra attempt if the quiz has a limited number of attempts). However, if the quiz is locked due to the availability date then you can assign a different due date for individual students.

1. Open the quiz and click edit
2. Under "Assign" click "+Add" then you can select the student that you want to open the quiz.

why would there not be an option to clear an attempt?  
how do I allow a student who had an error where no answers were recorded an additional attempt without allowing others a second try?

Precisely. It's an example of the many convolutions in Canvas. The software hasn't been subjected to a "real world" set of UX testing.
