Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
We're rolling quite well with Canvas now, but wondering what other schools with our setup do with grades. Right now we have many of our faculty members grading in Canvas and then entering grades (again) in TeacherPlus.
Is that what you all do? Or does anyone have a better solution. Some have suggested Kimono, but they don't have it working yet.
Thank you!

Two points, if you please:
Rediker does have an Import Tool that would move our grades from Canvas to AdminPlus, but, to purchase that button would cost over $3,500.00 for the first year, and another $1,700.00 per year after that.
This has taught us something:
We are looking at going elsewhere for our SIS needs now.
Hi, @liz_laverty , I've shared your question with the Grade Pass Back and LMS & Migrations groups to enhance its visibility.
Thank you!
During the semester, teachers only provide grades in Canvas. At the end of the semester, we manually transfer our final grades to Rediker. While we could do this with each gradebook item, we wanted to prevent double-entry. (That seems like a lot of work!) It also encourages families to embrace the Observer role and the information provided in the Canvas Parent App.
We've considered using Clever to help with moving data from Canvas to Rediker, but haven't yet.

Another person to talk with is @jchalfant - in fact I will be reaching out to him soon. Jay has got the import set-up and working. Would we all like to get on a conference call so Jay can talk with us all at once instead of having 3 separate conversations?
I received this from Jay this summer:
For grades, we are using the Canvas Grade Exports tool under Admin > Reports. Since Rediker AdminPlus allows import of grades by file, this is pretty straightforward and doesn't require faculty to re-enter grades into another system. The only catch is that the Canvas Grade Exports report doesn't include a letter grade, only a percentage score. (See my idea: Grade Export should include Letter Grade) So we have to calculate the letter grade externally during the transfer. Because our school requires a standardized grading scheme across all sections, performing this calculation externally is feasible. (That said, I'm still miffed that my idea didn't get up-voted or at least picked up by development as a "necessary feature" to get it implemented; it seems to have died on the vine.)

Emily,
I'm so sorry it took so long to get back to you. This sounds like a great idea! Is there a way to do a conference call with Jay and see if he's interested in helping? Things are finally starting to slow down here in NOLA, so something in early January would be great!
As an aside, don't wait until February: Mardi Gras is coming!

I will also email everyone incase they don't check their community email. But I would love to set-up a conference call. I think we could all benefit from a chat, not just about grades but it could give us a chance to exchange some ideas and practices.
I'm on vacation starting tomorrow until Jan 18th. After that I can make almost any day or time work.
