Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I am a student and my canvas instructure pages won't load the content of any of my classes. I click on every assignment, pages, courses, dashboard, and nothing comes up. No one else seems to be having this problem. It's got nothing to do with the wifi too

Hi @mnewell19 ~ That's helpful to know, but is it possible to access the information by another means? If you use a different browser (Firefox or Safari) or the mobile app and you can get to your courses, that's different than if you can't get to your courses no matter which way you try. Please reply and keep us in the loop.
Hello. I am having the same issue as the first person who posted. I am using a computer and have tried all browsers. I am able to access it on my phone on the wifi in my house but not on my laptop.
I will contact Wayne State IT. Wifi is on as I can access every other cite but canvas. And it brings me to my dashboard but thats where it freezes. I can't click on anything on the screen and then my browser says the page is unresponsive. Does that seem more like a Wayne State question?
Hi @mnewell19 . I imagine that is a bit frustrating. A couple of quick questions just to narrow things down . . . 1) Have you tried a different web browser, such as Firefox and Chrome?; 2) Are you trying to access Canvas on a mobile device or laptop/desktop computer? Thanks!
I am using chrome on a computer

Hi @mnewell19 . I thought that I would check back and see if you found a solution to the issue you were having with content not loading. Hopefully everything is working the way it should now!
Hi @mnewell19 - How are things going? It's been a while since ericwerth and I have heard from you. Because there hasn't been any updates for a few months, I'm going to assume everything is going well and mark this question as "Assumed Answered". However, if you have further questions, feel free to reply and reopen the discussion. We'd be happy to help!

Hello @gd5857 . Sorry to hear about the trouble you are experiencing. For clarification, on your laptop...
1- Do you not see your course on your dashboard at all? If not you might try referencing this document and seeing if you can favorite the course so that it appears on your dashboard. How do I customize my Courses list as a student?
2- Are you able to access any of the course on your computer? Sometimes students will try to access pages, assignments, etc. that have not been published or opened by the instructor. In this case you should be given some type of message that this is the case. If you receive a message about a page/assignment not being available or published, then you should contact your instructor to let him/her know the issue you are facing.
3- You mention being able to access your course on your phone with the wifi in your house but not on your laptop. You might check that the computer is connected to wifi as well. In our house, I often will have blinks in my wifi and lose connectivity for a while. This doesn't seem to happen as much with my phone and sometimes when it does it appears to switch to my cellular service to pick up the lag. Never hurts to check!
If none of these seem to solve the problem you might contact Canvas support or the student support group at your institution (maybe via C&IT Help Desk - Computing & Information Technology - Wayne State University).
I hope this helps and let us know when you find out what is happening!

I would try Wayne State IT @gd5857 . It wouldn't be a bad idea to shut down your browser(s) and restart your computer to ensure that doesn't resolve the issue, but it sounds as though you are doing what you are supposed to. I am not in IT myself, but I would suspect that the folks at Wayne State will want to check their systems to ensure they are functioning properly and maybe work with you to determine if the issue is related to your laptop. Although not impossible, from what you mention I would be surprised if the issue is with Canvas itself. You could always contact Canvas support as well, but if something similar happened at my institution, I would send the individual to our IT helpdesk first.
Let us know if you figure out what is happening or when the problem gets fixed!
I am having the same problem
@megan_hill , please try these troubleshooting steps:
If none of these methods solve the problem, contact Canvas Support. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student? but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.
I am having the same issue and it is on a computer that worked for canvas last year perfectly. I have also tried using all available browsers for my computer.
My canvas wont load on my computer, the cards where my classes should be just blink grey.
