Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I would love to hear from others that are using Canvas + Seesaw in the elementary setting (PK-5).
Thank you in advance!

Looking for best practices in setting up K-2 modules, with or without SeeSaw. Any suggestions?
I have found a way to embed Seesaw into Canvas so the students don't have to leave Canvas while completing an activity on Seesaw. Let me know if you would like to see the process. Thanks!
Here is the Screenshot of how we added it as an app.

The format of full distance teaching isn't supported as strongly in Seesaw as it is in Canvas. Seesaw is purely activity based and not any instruction. Being from a distance full time, using only Seesaw makes it difficult to actually teach new content so having the actual content instruction being in Canvas and then having Seesaw integrated into Canvas for the activity part of the lesson would make a full lesson much better.
TTSD adopted Canvas for all students in grades K-12 and it's replacing Seesaw for grades K-5 in the name of consistency. I LOVE Seesaw and just want to be able to use some of the functions that were so powerful for my young students with special needs...
We're required to start using Canvas this fall. Some of the 1st graders already use SeeSaw. So if K-2 teachers post activities, links, etc. in Canvas, then the parents would be able to view and assist the students. Open to suggestions!
We are in the same boat - required to use Canvas this fall and still using Seesaw. I have found a way to embed Seesaw within Canvas if you would like. We are excited about it.
@jbieber please share how you are embedding Seesaw into canvas please. Kathryn.Ives@pfisd.net
My first graders use Seesaw from the time they start school in Preschool or Kdg. By the time they get to me they are pretty good at navigating. When we started distance learning, we began using Canvas so we had the instruction piece. Can’t these two platforms be more compatible so our littler learners can still use what is familiar to them AND get the benefits of Canvas?
Hey Heather - I think we have found a way for it to be compatible. Let me know if you are interested and I could walk you through the app embedding of Seesaw into Canvas.
Please tell me more - it it actually embedding or is it linking to the activity or using the redirect tool?
Could you post the steps that you found?
Yes, I'm curious about how you did this as well. Thanks for sharing, in advance!

Are you using Seesaw for Schools? I also you are using Clever, what is the
purpose?

Jessica, I am the canvas admin for our district and are you adding the app at the district level or at the course level?
I am interested in the same quested aaronlunsford
I tried to follow the steps as described in this post but was unable to get it to work. Would love to know more. @jbieber
I provided instructions in a post - here they are again:
Here are the steps I used to get this set up in our instance:
These steps should add the Seesaw link to the course navigation in all your classes by default.
Just note that if you don't have admin access to your Canvas instance, you will need your Canvas admin to do this for you.
Thank you for the clear steps. They worked for me.
Another question: Do you have steps for embedding a Seesaw activity on the Canvas page?
I followed these steps but have an issue. I cannot log into Seesaw from within Canvas. I log in using my Gmail account and it takes me back to the log in screen. I even tried logging in as a student and it did the same thing. Any ideas why this might be?
I had that same issue. When chosen to redirect to a new tab it logged me in but not when i didn't redirect to a new tab.
Is there a trick to get the login buttons to work? @tcampbell1
We use Clever to log the students into Seesaw. What link are you editing on the 1st screen shot?
I hate having to add grades when I can link SeeSaw into the assignment.
Thank you!!
I have gotten the login page to show up, but then when I try, I can select my Google account but then it just takes me back to the embedded login page. Has anyone had recent success? What were your steps
