Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I use Canvas Parent. I can see current courses using the mobile app but also a list of past enrollments for my student. Is there any way to delete those courses?

Since the initial question was posted, I can confirm that favoriting/unfavoriting courses doesn't affect Canvas Parent like it does Canvas Student. I wish that Observers were given that option as well. Perhaps we can author a new feature idea.
Claire,
I'm not positive about this with the Canvas Parent App, but with both the Student and the Teacher apps you can customize your Dashboard page to only show desired courses. Open the app and see if there is an Edit button in the upper right corner. Once you've done that, touch the Star next to the courses you want to see on your Dashboard screen, or if there are courses that are starred that you don't want to see, press them to have the star unselected and then press Done.
My guess is that have actually remove the courses you'd need to have an Admin at your school do that but I'm not positive about that. Others may have more information regarding that.

Hi claireduignan -
Canvas Parent can "hang on" to past enrollments of your student(s) based on the way your child's districts closes terms. To give you a little more information: when the Canvas admin creates the courses for the term or school year, they also decide on which day the content becomes accessible and on which day the content becomes unavailable.
From the sounds of it, the district to which you are connected has chosen to make it so users can go back and reference past courses.
So, like @rmurchshafer suggested, you will need to log-in to the desktop version of Canvas and then customize your dashboard (How do I use the Dashboard?). That should allow you to click a small star to the left of the course name. The solid star designates that it will be displayed on your dashboard; the empty one will remove it.
If the "favoriting" of the courses doesn't copy over to the app, please reply! I'd be happy to do more troubleshooting and/or researching until you have an answer.
The favoriting of the courses doesn't copy over to the app. I have to pick through 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes to find my 6th graders new courses.

Thank you Kristin Lundstrum & Rick Murch-Shafer I did try your recommendations but to no avail. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app and still no joy. Currently working with my school admin to try and resolve this issue and right now we are investigating if there is some sort of glitch with the app for android phones?, I use a Samsung galaxy s6. I appreciate your efforts and if you have any further info I would appreciate it 🙂 Brendan Arnold I am curious to know what kind of mobile device you are using - maybe we could hit on some similarities?

I am an admin on our account and see the same issue of past enrollments appearing in the Android version of the parent app. We do close access to past terms, so I don't think term permissions are the issue. I have also gone into the desktop version and selected to only see current enrollments and see the same lack of carryover to the app. This does not happen in the iOS version of the app. Has anyone found any answers? I have been searching the community and have not found anything.
No solution as yet I’m afraid, it’s driving me bonkers….
