[ARCHIVED] Canvas Help: "Ask Your Teacher a Question" Option?

We have many roles in Canvas based off of the teacher role. Whenever a student goes to the Help menu and selects "Ask Your Teacher a Question", the question gets sent to everyone in the course that has a role based on the teacher role. It would be nice to be able to narrow down who gets these help emails, to the actual lead teacher in the course. I am advised that we may be able to do it on our backend with some custom JS, but that doesn't sound like an ideal solution. Having the option to determine who gets these help emails would be extremely beneficial to both our staff and students. Thanks.

Hi @turnerstev
First, to solve the immediate problem I would suggest that students use the Canvas Inbox to ask their teacher a question. If they select "Teachers", they are then presented with a list of teachers for that course, and can select the appropriate one.
As for your idea, you should post this in Idea Conversations in this community where ideas for improvement and new functionality are shared, discussed and rated. The Canvas engineers really do use this list to help guide product development.
