[ARCHIVED] Can we turn some sort of notification sound on for when students send us an email via canvas?

Instead of sitting in front of my laptop all day waiting for a potential question, I would like some sort of audio ping, to notify me that a new message has come through

This is not an option within Canvas. 

If your notifications get delivered to you by email, then you can typically set up an audio notification on the email client. If you don't want every email to cause an audio notification, some email clients allow you to set up custom sounds or notifications as part of the filtering process (only when certain rules are matched). How to do that would depend on your email client.
