Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
As an admin, I need to run a report which shows the activity of the courses per campus. I know that there is the Canvas Data Portal, but oh my - super confusing. Is there a fairly easy way to accomplish this without viewing each teacher individually?
What do you mean by "activity" of the courses? And depending on what this is you might want to post it over on the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/canvas-developers?sr=search&searchId=317bc517-7667-4a8a-9517-... group.
I really just want to see which teachers have posted assignments in their courses and how many, when was the last time, etc. Mainly useage per course.
My guess is that for something like this you would need to use the back-end of Canvas either through the API or Canvas Data. That's beyond my expertise so I'm going to share this with the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/canvas-developers?sr=search&searchId=acf36b71-0adb-45d2-8df6-... group to see if they can help.
Hey @lhenson ,
The report you are asking for sounds wonderful, helpful, and great if it was with a one-click. Sadly, I don't know how to get that type of detail without going through every course.
One suggestion: click desired course -> settings -> Course Statistics -> and this will display:
But it doesn't show dates or anything else. You can track by "benchmarks" when you pull this information. I'm not sure if that even helps, but wanted to mention it (just in case). If you click on Pages, it shows a creation date/time stamp- that might be helpful. But not on assignments.
Stephanie
I have been told that I have to use the API or Canvas Data to get that info. Loading Canvas Data to a local database today so I can start generating the report I need.
