Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I have an instructor who accidently "X-ed" out a Global Announcement I created and now wants to bring it back. I can't figure out how to do this. Thanks so much!
Solved! Go to Solution.
@amandataintor , once a user dismisses a global announcement by clicking the X, it's well and truly gone, and cannot be brought back. In fact, this is almost the very first thing I show new teachers in training sessions. I have a dashboard mocked up with a global announcement appearing on it, and tell them not to click the X until they're sure they've noted all the information they need from it.
By the way, the idea of hiding the announcement rather than "deleting" it has been floated as a feature idea a few times, but never gained much traction.

Good to know! I have just begun experimenting with global announcements. I will definitely add to my introduction trainings!
We're actually kicking around the idea of some archive outside of canvas of all Global messages for this very reason.
This also happened to some of our instructors. They clicked on X and now can't bring the announcement back. I am using the Global Announcement to post the "Tip of the Week" every week. It would be nice if users could hide the announcement instead of deleting it from the Dashboard.
I wanted to make sure those of you ( @amandataintor and @abunag ) that are interested in some sort of archive had seen https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/admins/blog/2017/03/31/create-a-global-announcements-archive?...
