[ARCHIVED] Assessment/Quiz only the trainer can see

We currently have lab assessments that are printed in hard copy. We want to put the assessments in Canvas as a task so the trainer can just mark off each skill as S/NYS. what is the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @epostehartman

First, let me make sure I have this correct....................

  • Your students perform a lab,
  • You or a designee assesses student performance in the lab using a worksheet of criteria,
  • The criteria can be rated Satisfactory, or Not Yet Satisfactory (if I'm unbundling your acronym correctly).

If that is correct, then yes you can do this in canvas.

One of the huge advantages to using this method, is that if the labs are performed in-person (like in an actual lab setting), then the rubric can be used as an observational grading tool. Open Speedgrader in a mobile device, observe the student, mark the rubric, and save the marked rubric. The student's score for the work is immediately updated in Canvas for the student to review.

I hope this is helpful,

Kelley
