Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
From the Grades page, you can see a list of assignments.
How do I view the Grades page for a student as an observer?
If you look at assignments together with your student, past and upcoming assignments are sorted.
I have this issue also. I would like to see that assignments are submitted. I woke up my son the other day when I checked canvas and there were assignments showing up on my parent observation page. He came downstairs and logged in to his account to show me that he had actually submitted them. This, I feel, I a major thing for Canvas. Seeing the assignment is one thing, but knowing it's done is something else that is very important.
Current views by having to check each course one by one is far too cumbersome. We really need a single view where we can see all the assignments in one single view.
I agree with the comments of parents above and elsewhere on this community under different threads about the need to know if assignments have been submitted and to easily find out what assignments still need to be submitted.
We parents need one place per course to view the day's assignments, and to be able to quickly tell if an assignment has been submitted or if it is still outstanding. We do not have time to click on each individual assignment to have its submission details pop up (besides, I don't know if all the different types of assignments even have submission details, or if a teacher has to "turn on" this feature for the submission details to pop up).
In a module, there may be several different things the student has to do (read a document, watch a video, for example) prior to doing the assignment. As parent, I have to go through each module daily to look for the assignment, click on the assignment to view the submission details (if there are any).
Do all assignments, even quizzes, have submission details pop up when you click on the assignment?
Please Canvas, help us parents to be able to quickly confirm our student has completed their assignments. It's one thing to be able to see the assignments, but we also need to be able to confirm an assignment was completed, and to be able to discern which assignments have yet to be completed.
Thanks.
