Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
My apologies if this has already been asked/answered. I could not find the info I was looking for in the forums.
I am in the process of reviewing these two products from Articulate and would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you all may have. Pros/cons of each? Ease of integration with Canvas? (I did find posts about Storyline but nothing on Studio) Since the 2 cost the same - I am looking for which one may be the biggest bang for my department's budget!
I appreciate all responses.
I have this same question.
Thanks!
I am new to all LMS's, but I do have both Studio and Storyline 2, if I had asked this question prior to purchasing my registrations I could have saved a great deal of money. Both suites are very similar, you can develop in Studio and import to Storyline but not visa versa. Studio is more like an improved version of PowerPoint, whereas Storyline has the same type of feel, it offers more features than Studio. For example, if using Studio and you wanted to create a quiz or survey you would need to use Quizzmaster, which is a separate software but comes free with the purchase. In addition, I am not sure if Studio has SCROM capabilities. In a nutshell, I have only used Studio once since I purchased it, I use Storyline all of the time. I would suggest doing the free trial, they give you 30 days, that should give you enough time to determine which best suits your particular needs and implements into your LMS easily. A little hint, if 30 days is not long enough you can continue getting free trials by using different email accounts. If you do decide to go with Storyline and want a good reference on how to use all of the features you can pick up a copy of "eLearning Uncovered Articulate Storyline 2" is great and I just noticed that they came out with a new book that goes beyond the essentials and teaches topics such as gaming, customizing navigation etc. Both are available on Amazon for about $35 each, but I think they have Kindle versions as well that are about 1/2 the price.
Melody,
Thank you for the response. This was exactly what I was looking for. I am currently in the middle of the 30 days free with Studio & I see what you mean about a powerpoint version. Looking forward to testing out Storyline.
I will also check out the books you suggested.
