[ARCHIVED] Archiving and Hiding Previous Chats

I just used Chat for the first time with my students.  But I want my next period's class to not be able to see the chat I had with my last period's class.  How can I archive the chat from my last class and not make it visible to my next class?

Unfortunately, there is not a way to archive a chat session. The chat in Canvas is always available to all students in a course through the chat history. Thank you.  My students are responding much more affirmatively to the Chat feature than they did to the Discussion feature.  So, I was hoping to find a way to make the Chat more of a formalized component.    I continued to use Chat for my second period class today, and I don't think it proved a problem, so maybe I am overthinking this a bit.
