Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi all,
I need to make audio files available to my students on quizzes but I can't have them downloading those audio files. How do I do that? I can do it for assignments but quizzes force students to download the audio files onto their computers. The files I need them to access are already on my Canvas "drive". I have tried a variety of work arounds but everything so far requires students to download assessment materials. Help!

Hi @ahalbert ,
When creating a quiz question you have access to the Rich Content Editor. If you use the Record/Upload Media tool within that you can upload an audio file that students can then stream during the quiz without downloading any files.
Best,
Nick

Hi there, @ahalbert ...
In addition to the suggestion that @ns3320 gave you, my suggestion is somewhat similar. Has your school purchased Canvas Studio from Instructure? This is another similar way that you could upload the audio file(s) to Canvas Studio, and then you can embed that audio in course content. It also gives you "Insights" from an instructor's point of view to see whether or not your students are actually listening to the audio, too.
I hope these resources will be of help to you, Amy. Sing out if you have any questions...thanks!
