I am unable to add a rubric to one of my assignments. I have done it before but am having trouble doing it now. I read the instructions over again thinking maybe I was missing something but the add rubric button is simply gone. I recently created new groups in Grading to keep organized as our school has just recently allowed us to upload our grades to Skyward (which I have not done just yet). Maybe that has something to do with my inability to add a rubric?

Please let me know what I can do to fix this issue!

Hello,

I took the liberty of peeking into your course.  I see the +Rubric button on assignments created in Canvas.  I also see content that appears to have come from a Google integration.  On the Google assignments I do not see a rubrics button my guess it that the integration does not allow for the application of rubrics.

 @hggregory  Welcome to the Canvas Community! It looks like Scott has honed in on the issue here. When creating an assignment of the external tool type, an instructor needs to create the assignment with the submission type Online, then add the rubric, and finally, switch the assignment type to External Tool to accommodate the Google integration. The process is described fully in How do I create a cloud assignment with a Google Drive file?
