Keyboard navigating course menu - access keys

A question for users who solely navigate by keyboard, are there access keys or alike available to jump to the start of a course menu? There is a 'skip to content' link available, which sends focus to the course content but also skips past the course navigation. So if a user wants to skip over the Canvas navigation directly to the course menu, is it possible? Or as alternative examples:

  1. Can you add more than one 'skip to content' link, example, 'skip to content' and 'skip to course navigation'?
  2. Can 'skip to content' land at the start of the course content and another 'skip to course content' is available to skip over the course menu when required?

Hope that makes sense 😁

Thanks!

That's an excellent suggestion, @CoreyCollins to improve the usability of Canvas for those of us who like to use keyboards. It's possible to tab through the links on Global Navigation to get to the Course Navigation links, but adding a shortcut (like there is to "skip to content") is possible. The best way to let the developers know is to suggest an improvement via the ideas process. The guides that explain how the process works are linked from the page where you can submit an idea:

Canvas Ideas

Currently the folks from Instructure are working on a process that is better able to respond to good ideas like yours, and in the meantime it's okay to submit new ones.

Creating an idea does not provide an immediate solution to the problem you described, though it is a solution. I’m going to mark it as such and hope that our colleagues who have a similar challenge will find the best way to contribute. If you decide to create an idea, please link it here.
