Do you know what kind of evidence base is behind the edtech tools being used in your district?

It’s essential that edtech decision makers understand how different solutions are affecting student outcomes in order to maximize student learning and optimize district spending. However, with nearly 1,400 edtech tools used in the average US district each month, this is no easy feat.

That’s why LearnPlatform is excited to announce the upcoming release of the Evidence Page, a practical solution to help district leaders review and vet the impact of edtech products at scale. With this release, products in the LearnPlatform library will have a new Evidence Page detailing Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)-aligned research completed on the tool as well as other background research, case studies and testimonials added by the solution provider. The Evidence Page complements the work educational organizations are doing through Rapid Cycle Evaluation to evaluate impact of product use in their own district contexts and the work that solution providers are doing with Evidence as a Service to understand and improve effectiveness of edtech tools. The result is a comprehensive view of a product’s impact through different types of research, completed in a variety of settings.

Unlike similar solutions, the Evidence Page will be updated by solution providers in real-time making it the most up-to-date source for edtech evidence in the market. Providers can add evidence and research to their product profiles by completing a short evidence form. Once entered, providers can request research validation by the LearnPlatform team or choose to share as-is, without validation. All validated evidence is aligned to ESSA evidence tiers making it easier for educational organizations to quickly identify products that meet each of the four standards. When paired with additional product details already found on LearnPlatform product pages, including student data privacy certifications, interoperability, and standards alignment, the Evidence Page builds upon LearnPlatform’s mission to be a centralized hub for edtech vetting and management.

The Evidence Page is designed to support edtech procurement, vetting and implementation planning. Users can access the Evidence Page for all products from their Organization Library, EdTech Management Console or from the LearnPlatform community library and leverage the information in decision-making processes.

The Evidence Page  will be available soon to all LearnPlatform users.
