MasteryConnect Release Notes (2021-09-20)

In this MasteryConnect release (September 20), District Approved Resources allow users with permissions to create assessments and curriculum maps that cannot be cloned by other users in the district. Additionally, Accounts can determine if they would like to use basic or state level calculators at the account level. Branding updates have also been made to MasteryConnect emails.

 

  New Feature

 

District Approved Resources

District Approved Resources allow users with permissions to create assessments and curriculum maps that cannot be cloned by other users in the district. This feature helps content teams and districts distribute common resources across the district.

District-Level Permissions

This feature must be enabled at the district setting by a Customer Success Manager.

User Permissions

District Administrators have the ability to to approve resources. All other users must have an additive permission enabled. 

  • Additive Permissions with Content Approval Privileges:
    • Content Approval 
    • Benchmark Author 
    • Benchmark Facilitator
 
Creating Approved Assessments

Users with permissions can approve a formative assessment upon creation. Users can edit and convert an assessment to a district-approved resource. Only users with permissions can see the toggle.

Search for Approved Assessments

Users can search for approved resources in the assessment list. Approved resources are indicated by both a checkmark in the assessment tile and next to the assessment title.

Creating Approved Curriculum Maps

Users can approve curriculum maps upon creation. Users can also edit existing curriculum maps and approve them.

District Approved Maps

A checkmark indicator displays by the title of the map in the list and on the map. From the Tracker, users cannot create a curriculum map from a district approved map.

Additional Functionality

All users can access a Curriculum Map where the Tracker was created.

  Updated Features

 

Desmos State Level Calculators

Accounts can determine if they would like to use basic or state level calculators at the account level. Calculator offerings for each state are available at the Desmos Website

State level calculators can be assigned at the assessment level only. Calculators are visible in the following locations:

  • Assess Modal 
  • Tracker Level Default Tools & Accommodations
  • Benchmark Tools & Accommodations

Accounts can enable up to 6 calculators, as well as any combination of state or default Desmos Calculators.

Any existing accounts with Desmos Calculators will maintain the current selection of graphing, scientific, and four function Desmos Calculators. Default and State calculators can be added by a Customer Success Manager.

MasteryConnect emails have been updated to align with Instructure branding.
